The Titirangi Volunteer Fire Brigade is no stranger to saving lives, but this time the victims were of the feathered variety.
A plump of ducklings were rescued in Green Bay, Auckland, over the weekend, after becoming separated from their mother and falling down a drain.
She waited anxiously as firefighters opened the grate and freed the mallards.
They were reunited with their mum in a nearby park.
