Police are hunting a man who attacked a woman on a Nelson street.
Police say the woman was on Cobham Crescent in the suburb of Stoke when the man, who she did not know, attacked her Wednesday night.
The man is described as Maori, aged in his early to mid 50s, approximately 5 ft 6 inches tall and of a slim build.
He also had a beard at the time of the assault and was wearing a grey sweatshirt and jeans.
Police do not think this incident is related to an assault in a young girl earlier this week.
