Christchurch police are appealing for help from the public after a woman was sexually assaulted in the early hours of Friday, July 22.
The attack took place on the Ilam Fields between Ilam Road and Waimairi Road, according to police.
The woman was walking alone through the fields when she was grabbed by a man, pulled to the ground, threatened and sexually assaulted, before he ran off.
"She is very shaken by what happened and is being supported by family, Victim Support and police," says Detective Sergeant Nicola Reeves.
"We would like to hear from anyone who saw a man behaving in a suspicious manner in that area any time around last Friday."
