From search and rescue to transporting troops, cargo, providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief – the Hercules fleet has done almost everything you can imagine.
The aircraft are workhorses which have been everywhere including the earthquakes in Christchurch, tsunamis in the South Pacific, to the Middle East and Antarctica.
This year represents 50 years of the Royal New Zealand Air force operating the Hercules - one of the most important aircraft in aviation history.
