As seen in a video uploaded to Facebook by his son Max, the Prime Minister's donned "the latest yeezys" - gumboots - and given his fleet a wash.
At the start of the clip Max teases his dad, asking him, "Working hard to get my vote?"
He then dances around the old man, the song 'Car Wash' blaring from tinny speakers.
Mr Key seems unfazed by his son's antics, finishing the job with a father-son high-five.
