All Blacks lock Luke Romano turns down Toulon move

Luke Romano's reportedly turned down a chance to join French club Toulon and has re-signed with New Zealand Rugby for two more years.

The Crusaders and All Blacks lock's contract runs out at the end of this season, and Toulon were keen to add Romano to their squad for next year.

But the 30-year-old Romano has turned down the offer according to French newspaper L'Equipe, and will remain in New Zealand until the end of 2018.

Romano was reportedly in advanced talks with the French side, but will remain in New Zealand for the upcoming British and Irish Lions tour in 2017.

The 22-Test All Black made his international debut in 2012 in a win against Ireland in Hamilton.
