The All Whites have been knocked out by New Caledonia in their Oceania Nations Cup semi-final in the Solomon Islands.

The two nil boil-over is the All Whites first loss to New Caledonia in 36 years.

Coach Ricki Herbert's strengthened side included seven changes from Wednesday’s draw with the Solomons, which was played in oppressive heat.

While the All Whites’ game plan has been to defend an early goal, it was New Caledonia who had the encouraging start.

An hour in and the All Whites found themselves on the back foot, going on to lose the match.
