Australian rugby fans have voted for a Super Rugby team of the year, but would they stand a chance against the champion Hurricanes?

Players from all five Australian Super Rugby franchises are represented in The Rugby Union Players' Association [RUPA] inaugural People's Choice Team of the Year.

Five players (one from each team) were selected for each position and fans voted on who they believed had the best Super Rugby season.

Israel Folau was voted the best centre, while David Pocock fended off Michael Hooper for the openside flanker spot.

12 of the 15 players selected have made Michael Cheika's current Rugby Championship Wallabies squad.

The Brumbies and Waratahs, Australia's two playoff sides, had five players each make the side, while the Reds and Western Force had two. The Lowly Rebels had just one representative in Sefanaia Naivalu.
