Australia has begun their Four Nations campaign with a routine 54-12 win over Scotland at Hull's KC Lightstream Stadium in northern England.

The Kangaroos ran in 10 tries against the Bravehearts, with Cooper Cronk and James Maloney grabbing two apiece.

The result was never in doubt, with Scotland fronting up physically but being let down by basic handling and kicking skills.

St George Illawarra back Josh Dugan particularly shone before leaving the field with a head injury.

The win is an ideal start for the Kangaroos, who will look to win the Four Nations title back off holders New Zealand.

The Kiwis start their campaign against England on Sunday morning (NZT).
