Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt has regained his fitness after a torn hamstring forced him to pull out of last month's Jamaican trials.

He says he's now ready to compete again in London, as part of his preparations for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

"I'm good, I'm feeling good, been training good now," Bolt said on Thursday, ahead of his start over 200 metres at the Diamond League meet in London on Friday.

The six-time Olympic and 11-time world champion saw German national football team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt to get over the scare.

"I went to see the doctor, he worked his magic as always," said Bolt, who has been treated by Mueller-Wohlfahrt  for past injuries.

Bolt, 29, is listed among the Jamaican team for the August 5-21 Rio Games by a medical exemption rule, but must prove his fitness in London.

Bolt also commented on the ban confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Russian track and field athletes, saying it will "scare a lot of people, or send a strong message".
