Chiefs midfielder Charlie Ngatai won't get another chance to impress the All Blacks selectors before they pick the squad to take on Wales next month.

Ngatai's been ruled out of Friday night's Super Rugby clash with the Waratahs as he continues to struggle with a head-knock. The 25-year-old picked up a concussion in his side's 26-13 loss against the Highlanders on May 7.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie's confident that Ngatai will be available for Test selection.

"He'll miss this weekend, but the following weekend nobody plays and the All Blacks don't play either. I reckon he'll probably be right by the start of next week, so I think from a medical point of view he'll be fine," Rennie said.

All Blacks selectors name the Test squad on Sunday.
