A surprise result in the men's single sculls at the first rowing regatta of the national season at Lake Karapiro.
Olympic and world champion Mahe Drysdale was pipped by Hamish Bond in the final.
However, it's not the end of the world for Drysdale, who's heard Bond and team mate Eric Murray have been training hard individually.
"Hamish and Eric have been training full-time in singles since October so I knew that he was going to be a tough competitor but at this time of the season it's about just focusing on what you're trying to achieve and I was happy with the way that I raced," Drysdale said.
