They may have lost Ardie Savea but Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has put his hand up for the All Blacks Sevens.

This year's Sevens star Sonny Bill Williams tweeted the WWE and Hollywood legend asking if he was keen for a run with the injury-hit squad.

The 43-year-old Johnson was more than happy to give it a crack but wasn't sure how long he'd last.

Earlier this month, Johnson told a fan rugby was the toughest sport he'd ever played having lived briefly in Grey Lynn, Auckland to parents of Samoan heritage.

Johnson played American Football in college and played in the Canadian Football League in the mid-1990's.
