The greatest welterweight in MMA history has indicated that a return to the UFC is imminent.

Georges St-Pierre stepped away from the sport in 2013 after defending his belt against Johnny Hendricks, and suggestions were that he was done with the fight business.

However rumours have been rampant amongst MMA scribes that the UFC and the French Canadian, were working together on a comeback for the former pound for pound kingpin.

Appearing on UFC programming today, St-Pierre acknowledged his desire to return at UFC's December event in Toronto, UFC 206.

The 25 fight veteran has recently enrolled in the USADA drug programme as he looks to tick all the boxes in preparation for his much anticipated comeback fight.

St-Pierre has even indicated who he would like the UFC to match him with come December in Toronto.

"Tyron Woodley, Nick Diaz or Demian Maia," he said.

"These guys can elevate me."

"They're not necessarily guys I'm supposed to beat, to get far in this game, it's not about who's got the biggest balls. It's a straight line, you've got to know who you've got to beat."

Brazilian grappling king Maia, is coming off a quick submission win over top ranked Carlos Condit and has cemented himself as a potential challenger to division champion Tyron Woodley, whilst Diaz is wrapping up a 18 month suspension for marijuana use in February 2015.

St-Pierre, who never lost his title, is hoping to jump the queue to prove to UFC boss Dana White that he still wants to compete at the highest level after recent comments form the UFC boss suggested "GSP" he was done fighting.

"Let me fight once and you'll see in the first minute of the fight he's wrong."

"Let me fight Woodley then. We'll see if I don't want to be champion again."
