It's not often a school kid is also an Olympic medallist, but freeskier Finn Bilous knows exactly what that feels like.

Bilous claimed silver at the Youth Olympics earlier this year, a result which already has him eyeing up a shot at the Winter Olympics in 2018.

He's walks and talks like an everyday teen, but what sets him apart from the rest is his ability on two skis.

It's a difficult situation for a 16-year-old who simply loves to ski, and has the results to back it up, but his approach to school suggests maturity beyond his years.

His coach understands that importance of education and Bilous loves the support he gets from school.

"It was pretty hard going back to the books, sitting down at my desk but it's all part of it," said Bilous.

"It was awesome to see my friends because I got so much support while I was over there."

He's had a taste of it in Oslo, and he's watched the likes of Eliza McCartney become stars in Rio.

"I definitely want to get that same sort of feeling at the 2018 Olympics."

With the way Bilous is progressing, you wouldn't bet against it.
