Hasim Rahman calls out David Tua

Hasim Rahman is here to trade blows at the Super 8, but would like the prize to be another crack at David Tua.

"I'm ready to go. I'm going to handle this Super 8 business and if David is up for it, let's roll."

Rahman and Tua have history.

In 1998 Tua won with a 10th round TKO, which Rahman felt was called off too early, while he also disputes the result of their 2003 rematch.

"Maybe he feels like he beat me both times, that's on him. He's wrong, but he can think what he wants to think," says Rahman.

Rahman refuses to call it unfinished business, having knocked out Lennox Lewis to claim the WBC, IBO and IBF belts in 2001.

"David loses to Lennox, I beat Lennox, so I mean, it's poetic justice."

But he wants to beat the man he calls the best modern heavyweight without a world title.

"If he wants to come back, I would love it. I'm on the dotted line."

Tua, who retired after losing to Alexander Ustinov in November, didn't return calls today.

Rahman, like Tua, is 41 years old and hasn't fought in nearly two years, but he says his isn't the cliched return of a broke boxer.

"I wouldn't do it for free but it's not like I'm in need of rent money."

The motivation is boxing again.

"I feel strong. I feel good. I just want to punch someone in the mouth," he says.

And if there is a chance it could be Tua, Rahman would be a happy man.
