Henry confident ABs can make history

Today marks just one year until the Rugby World Cup 2015 kicks off in England.

For the man who guided the All Blacks to Webb Ellis glory in 2011, next year's event can't come quick enough.

Sir Graham Henry is back on the battlefield where he earned a knighthood.

"You know, there's been some brilliant Test matches here, climaxing with the Rugby World Cup 8-7 against France in 2011, so this place means everything really," he says.

The game which defined his coaching career and ended two decades of World Cup misery is now history – and it's history Henry believes will be made this time round.

"[It's] never happened before for an All Black team to go back-to-back and win away from home, so that's a challenge they need… but it's an Everest, it's huge."

Henry's involvement next year includes leading a 300-strong tour group.

While the 2011 Cup was Henry's swansong he keeps a close eye on the All Blacks, and likes what he saw against the Springboks in Wellington.

"It just shows you in those situations how close it can be in those tight contests, and it can go either way sometimes, and that can happen in World Cups," he says.

So one year exactly to the next World Cup, and 58 weeks until the All Blacks have the chance to prove they can once again handle the situation.
