Israel Folau has quit AFL, leaving the Greater Western Sydney club with two years left on his lucrative contract.
The 23 year old has lost the "passion" for Aussie Rules and would be "cheating himself" if he continued in the code.
GWS coach Kevin Sheedy is disappointed to lose Folau saying he never reached his potential.
He says he wants to return to Rugby League and there are reports he could sign with the Eels.
He played just 13 Aussie Rules games with Greater Western Sydney.
