Video: Italian football side AC Milan perform bizarre Haka

Italian football side AC Milan pulled off a bizarre rendition off the haka before a match.

Fans looked on in bemusement as the Serie A giants lined up and gave their version of the ritual you're better placed to see before an All Blacks Test.

Milan's version features plenty of hip moves, but many were left confused by what exactly was taking place on the San Siro turf.

Milan dubbed their pre-match war dance the Tekitanka, with the name emblazoned on advertising boards along with social media hashtags.

The ruse was all designed as a marketing ploy for club sponsors Nivea, with the players mimicking the action of applying face cream.

While attempting to be light-hearted, the attention-seeking ploy could backfire on the club for selling out.

Last year, an Italian television show copped flak for a Haka they performed in a commercial, while former England captain Matt Dawson performed one for a clothing brand.

However, this effort from AC Milan on the pitch might just be the strangest.
