Some Warriors players are nervous about their future at the NRL club heading into the final game of the season against the Eels at Mount Smart on Sunday.

It appears Andrew McFadden's position is safe, for now, and prop Albert Vete thinks if the coach isn't getting axed, then it might be some players in the line of fire.

"It's either the coach or the players," Vete said.

"I know for myself I was definitely out there playing not knowing if I'll be here next year or not.

"I know a few other players were thinking the same thing. It's a pretty tough situation to be in at the moment, especially for a young player, but I guess that's the way the business goes and we've got to deal with it."

The 23-year-old was given his first cap by McFadden and credited the coach for changing the mind-set of the Warriors team.
