The Warriors have failed to make the NRL top eight for a fifth straight season following yesterday's 36-24 capitulation to the Wests Tigers at Mount Smart Stadium.

Coach Andrew McFadden's had three seasons in charge without reaching the playoffs, but getting rid of him isn't the answer for veteran prop Jacob Lillyman.

"The last thing we need is another coach," Lillyman stated after the match.

"It has been a tough year, but [McFadden's] been tremendous through thick and thin.

"We as players have let him down, it's a shame that his credentials are questioned because, no doubt in my mind, he's the right man to take this club forward."

The Warriors sign off another disappointing season with a home game against the Parramatta Eels on Sunday.

The Melbourne Storm host the Cronulla Sharks on Saturday night with the winner to claim the minor premiership.
