Brendon McCullum will play for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 competition in July.

The retiring Black Caps captain has been snapped up for just under $200,000 this morning in the CPL draft.

It means McCullum will feature in four different Twenty20 franchise tournaments around the world in 2016: Australia's Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, Indian Premier League side the Gujarat Lions, Middlesex (English T-20 Blast) and the Knight Riders.

Martin Guptill has also acquired $USD130,000 in the CPL draft, signing with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in what will be his fourth time at the event.

Fringe Black Caps Colin Munro and Anton Devcich have also picked up small deals.

It's expected six games in this year's CPL will be held in the United States.
