New Zealand's Central Pulse have finished runners-up at the world premier club challenge event in Glasgow after losing their final match against Australia's West Coast Fever.

The Fever's 53-47 win determined the outcome of the six-team tournament after both were unbeaten following a week of competition at the venue which will host netball at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Seven unanswered goals at the end of the first quarter put the Fever 15-11 ahead and they were 26-21 clear at halftime before taking a 40-34 lead into the final stanza.

Pulse midcourter Liana Leota was named player of the tournament which involved the two trans-Tasman league clubs, two from England and one each from Scotland and Northern Ireland.
