West Ham will make their debut at the London Stadium with the prospect of European football at stake.

The Hammers were paired with Slovenian side Domzale in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round which had looked a favourable draw.

However, a 2-1 loss in the first leg in Ljubljana means Slaven Bilic's side need to win their first match in their new surroundings or face an embarrassing exit.

All Whites defender Winston Reid, who won a penalty and played the full 90 minutes in the first leg, understands the pressure his side are under as the clubs expectations grow in their new larger stadium.

It's important obviously (as) the club wants to grow. We as a club and players want to experience it and progress," Reid said.

"(Friday NZT) is a big occasion. We need to win, we need to make sure we get the right result so we can proceed."

Reid and his teammates will walk out in front of 54,000 fans to mark a huge moment in the club's history.

"We've been talking about this for a long time and it will be nice to get out there for the first game," he continued.

"In some ways it will be different for us, but I think we've got used to the idea now that we have moved and today we got the chance to get out on it, and tomorrow we’ll be ready for it.

"It is our new home and I'm sure everyone’s been looking forward to it for a while now."

A place in the Europa League group stages awaits the winning side.
