Retired All Black Richie McCaw is feeling the burn as the GODZone race enters its third day of competition.

The team of McCaw, Rob Nichol, Sarah Fairmaid and Ben Meyer finished trekking through the Red Hills just before 7am and spent almost an hour at the transition area before leaving just before 8am on a 47km bike ride and orienteering course.

McCaw said it was a case of putting one foot in front of the other.

"At times it's felt like day three, it's felt like day 10 at times too but we're alright," he said.

McCaw and his team are raising money for Cure Kids and have set a goal of raising $350,000.

You can support Rob, Richie, Sarah and Ben by texting GODZone to 933 to donate $3 or donate online here.
