Sonny Bill Williams has reportedly signed a three-year deal with the NZRU that will take him through to the 2019 World Cup.

The New Zealand Herald  reports that Williams has turned down offers from overseas.

It is reported that the World Cup winner has rejected offers to return to the NRL and also a big money offer from French Club Toulon.

Williams was recently promoted to the All  Blacks leadership group, and it is understood that Steve Hansen sees him as a vital part of the national side heading into the Lions series next year, and the 2019 defence of the Rugby World Cup.

Williams had previously signed short term deals, but the three-year commitment confirms his desire to cement himself in the All Blacks team now that Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith have moved aside.

A Wednesday press conference is expected to confirm the signing, as well as the announcement of what Super Rugby franchise Williams will play for from next season, with both the Chiefs and the Blues believed to be in the running.

It is understood that Williams has yet to make that decision.
