All Blacks coach Steve Hansen says he doesn't see his role changing within the current dynamic of the world champions' coaching structure.

Hansen, Ian Foster, Wayne Smith and Mike Cron have all shared various responsibilities over the course of the last five years - but there has been some speculation that Hansen may take a step back and relinquish some control.

However the 57 year-old has now shut such speculation down.

"We will use the specialist coaches to get us where we need to [be], but I'm still very much hands-on," Hansen told Radio Live's Brendan Telfer on Saturday Sport.

"I will still run our main training run on a Thursday - which is our team run - and Fozzy (Ian Foster) and I will work very closely on our strategies and how we want to play and the style we want to play."

Hansen, who signed a two-year contract earlier this week, is happy with the speedy nature of the negotiation process and is looking forward to the challenge ahead.

"It was just an opportunity to continue doing the work we are doing this year and next year going through to the World Cup and a couple things slotted into place to say it was the right thing to do."

With the All Blacks' Rugby Championship squad announced on Monday, Hansen doesn't believe there will be too many changes from the June series.

"The young guys that came in and played showed us that they are capable of performing at that level," he said.

Hansen's contract with the All Blacks finishes in March 2020.
