Breakers swingman Reuben Te Rangi has made a shock move to the Brisbane Bullets for the next ANBL season.

Te Rangi is one of three young players joining the restored franchise alongside Australians Mitch Young and Shaun Bruce next season.

The 21-year-old came off contract at the end of last season and has missed the cut after the signing of perimeter players Corey Webster, Tom Abercrombie and Kirk Penney.

His move will see him link up with former coach Andrej Lemanis and teammate CJ Bruton, who he won a championship with in 2013.

"Reuben, Mitch and Shaun all have proven NBL experience, but they still have the prime time of their basketball careers ahead and joining the Brisbane Bullets is an exciting opportunity for them," Lemanis said.

"They bring youth and skill sets to the playing group that compliments the other four players we've already signed."

Te Rangi, who has won two titles with the club, played 33 games for the Breakers last season, averaging just over two points, 1.8 rebounds in 13 minutes a game.
