New Zealand's Tom Walsh has spoiled Poland shot put legend Tomasz Majewski's farewell party in Warsaw.

Walsh has made it back-to-back victories in Europe with a throw of 21.48m to take the win.

The Kiwis effort was 40cm further than local hero Majewski, who threw a season's best of 21.08m and finished second.

Walsh only had two successful throws, and after opening with a 20.92m, won the event with his last attempt.

The win caps off an impressive weekend for Walsh, who broke his own personal best and set a New Zealand record with a throw of 22m to win a Diamond League event in Paris.
