Video: All Blacks Charlie Faumuina an unlikely star

Charlie Faumuina is used to flying under the radar, but the All Blacks prop has come into an unusual amount of attention on the streets of Buenos Aires.

Argentinian rugby has long been associated with the production of quality front-rowers and have always placed a great deal of focus and pride on their scrimmaging ability, which is probably why Faumuina has found himself a popular target for selfie-seeking fans.

"I don’t know if they know me, it's probably just because I'm the biggest guy in the team," deflected the 29-year-old.

"Some of the boys are getting into me about it, saying how I should come over here and get some sponsorships."

Faumuina made his test debut against the locals back in 2012, coming on to the field as a substitute in the 73rd minute, but admits it's a much different Pumas side that the All Blacks will be facing this weekend.

"They’re a much better team from when they first started," said the Aucklander in reference to Argentina's addition to the Rugby Championship.

"Nothing really changes from their forward pack, they love to maul and scrum and that's a battle in itself.

"But I think they're a lot calmer now. They love to offload, and that's another part of the game we have to make sure we look after.

With a typically empassioned and parochial crowd sure to be present, Faumuina is weary of the importance of making a strong start.

"It's always tough here, really noisy.

"We have to make sure we take them out of the game early. The longer the Argie boys are in it the louder that crowd gets behind them."
