An injury to Anthony Watmough has overshadowed Manly's 27-12 win over the Warriors in Sunday's NRL clash at a sun-soaked Gosford.

Watmough limped off on the half-hour mark after hyper-extending his knee on a day that saw the Sea Eagles' high-octane attack once again flex its muscles to seal a sixth successive win.

The loss denied the Warriors a chance to clamber into the top eight and was their second in successive weeks.

Winger David Williams, who Manly are hopeful of re-signing this week, scored a hat-trick as Geoff Toovey's side ran in five tries to two with Brett Stewart also bagging a double.

The 2011 premiers have now scored 225 points in their last half-a-dozen games but made hard work of securing the points with Jamie Lyon having an off-day with the boot by kicking only two conversion attempts.

Despite their dominance, Lyon's profligacy kept the Warriors in the hunt for long spells with Ngani Laumape and Shaun Johnson going over for the visitors.

However, their Auckland-based side's defensive deficiencies were easily exposed by the hosts at times with Glenn Stewart producing a marvellous display and having a say in four of his side's tries.

Manly failed to complete their first five sets, but still looked like scoring whenever they had the ball before Brett Stewart finally opened the scoring after 14 minutes.

Williams then extended the lead by applying the finishing touches to a great run from Glenn Stewart.

Warriors wideman Laumape silenced the home crowd by going over in the corner after a bulldozing run from Manu Vatuvei, with Johnson adding the extras to make it 10-6 at the break.

The Sea Eagles came charging out of the blocks after the interval with Williams scoring in the 46th and 57th minutes, but the ever-alert Johnson was on hand to keep his side in the game with a darting run to score just after the hour-mark.

But that setback only had a limited effect and some good work from Daly Cherry-Evans teed up Brett Stewart who danced his way to the line before Lyon scored from a penalty to ice the result.

Queensland representative Cherry-Evans had the final say with a 20-metre field-goal.
