Video: Baseball player shatters his own car windscreen with grand slam hit

A minor league baseball player's joy turned to sorrow after he found out his grand slam hit smashed his own windshield.

Brandon Thomas of the Gateway Grizzlies slammed a grand slam down the left field line and over the fence, giving his team a 4-3 lead.

Thomas said he was all smiles until he learned from teammates that the ball ended up shattering the windscreen of his truck.

"I couldn't believe it, honestly," said Thomas.

"I knew where I'd parked but I didn't think anyone was going to hit it out there, let alone myself."

However, the story would have a happy ending for Thomas and his broken windscreen.

"I woke up with some great news from this going viral, and that somebody has volunteered to take care of the windshield for me."
