Video: Bees swarm Chicago Cubs players and fans

Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward was stung multiple times after being attacked by a swarm of bees during a spring training game.

Heyward retracted to the warning track and jumped up on the outfield wall as he attempted to evade the swarm.

Using his glove and cap, Heyward was able to fight off some of the bees by madly flapping his arms around, but said he got stung at least 20 times.

"Good thing I'm not allergic," Heyward tweeted after the game.

Some fans in the crowd were spotted hiding under blankets, while others didn't seem bothered in the sightliest.

Heyward was able to shake off the incident pretty quickly and showed he has plenty of sting in his bat as he homered in the next innings.

The Cubs, who have not won the title since 1908, are favourites heading into the new baseball season which starts next week.
