With the Cleveland Cavaliers crushing the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, superstars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving had to find a new challenge while sitting on the bench.

So the pair decided to get in on the Water Bottle Flip Challenge, which has taken social media by storm. The challenge involves flipping a half-full water bottle in the air and trying to land it on its bottom.

Unfortunately for James and Irving, they failed miserably at the challenge despite their teammates cheering them on.

One of James's tosses landed on the court while the ball was in play which saw the three time champion scramble to collect the bottle before the referees noticed.

Despite landing seven out of 10 shots, and 10 out of his 14 free-throws, LeBron James went 0-3 in his water bottle flip attempts.

Just as the game ended, Irving finally landed a bottle flip. The players seemed more excited that Irving landed a bottle flip than the 32 point win.

Irving was impressed with his achievement post game. "If you land it you're like a legend," he said.

"I was trying to put my mark on the Water Bottle Challenge."

Many people thought that what James and Irving did was disrespectful to the players on the court, but both insist it was just for fun.
