Kiwi caddy Steve Williams is back in the country to pursue his other passion – speedway – after his boss, Australian Adam Scott, won the Masters on Monday morning (NZT).
Williams says he is delighted to have been a part of Scott's dream at Augusta.
"I know what it means for Australasia to try to get an Australian winner of that tournament," Williams says.
The caddy also had some strong words for his ever present knockers who claim he steals the limelight from the golfers he works for.
"If a player only needed a bag carrier, why would they employ somebody, but not a local caddy? Ask yourself," he says.
Williams also had an opinion on former boss Tiger Woods and his controversial drop over the weekend of the tournament.
Although Williams was quick to point out he didn't have all the facts in front of him, he did believe Woods should've been disqualified.
When asked if Scott would be the last player he caddied for, his answer was emphatic, "absolutely 100 percent".
He says he plans to caddy until the end of 2014 and then look to cut back to a limited basis after that.
Williams also had a nice surprise for Kiwi golf fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Australasia's latest Major champion.
"When I went to work for Adam I said that if you win a Major Championship whilst I'm caddying for you, part of the deal is that you've got to come and play in the New Zealand Open," Williams says.
It appears the caddy Kiwi connection may just pay off for the country's premier tournament.
