Having the chance to be a world champion is every sportsperson's dream, now imagine reaching that goal at the age of 13.
Promising young swimmer Gabrielle Fa'amausili achieved that dream this year, and has now been nominated for the Emerging Talent award at this year's Halberg Awards.
"It was amazing but it was a massive shock, I didn't really expect it but I went out and tried to do my best and do my own race and ended up getting what I wanted," Fa'amausili said of her 50m back stroke world championship win.
Fa'amausili said it's a massive privilege to be able to go the Halberg Awards.
