Team New Zealand boss Grant Dalton is confident they will be able to enter a boat in this year's Volvo Ocean Race.
Dalton says Team NZ need around $30m to enter the race, but given the prestigious event has a stop over in Auckland, he says it is important that New Zealand is involved.
"The AT and the government have money in the stop over, so I feel it is important that this country is involved," Dalton said.
Dalton says they have a deadline of early May to have a team up and running for the event which begins in Spain in early October with the Auckland stop over occurring mid-March 2015.
