Argentina landed a late penalty to beat the Springboks 26-24 in Salta, Argentina.

The Pumas scored the game's first try with just 14 men on the field after Ramiro Herrera was shown a yellow card for taking out Francois Louw without the ball.

Despite the Springboks having the man advantage they found themselves caught by numbers out wide as Argentina passed their way to line with Joaquin Tuculet scrambling over to score.

Bryan Habana pulled a try back for the Springboks in the second half, but he could do little to stop Argentina's swift reply as flanker Juan Manuel Leguizamon rose above him to grab a crossfield kick and score.

The Springboks looked to have stolen the victory when Pieter-Steph du Toit scored late, but a penalty from Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias with two minutes remaining sealed the 26-24 win.
