LIVE COMMENTARY... Dortmund 4 – 1 Real Madrid

FULLTIME: Dortmund win 4-1. We apologise for technical difficulties. ALL VIDEO IS UP.

90+1 MINS: FOUR MINUTES ADDED.

89 MINS: Great save by Weidenfeller as Madrid nearly sneak a scrambled goal back. It was Ronaldo who slid in and the keeper is injured.

88 MINS: It's hard to recall a 24 hour period when I've seen so many Spanish players' heads down. Germany 8 - 1 Spain.

85 MINS: Dortmund continues the attack.... and Real Madrid are desperate, trying killer long balls to sneak goals back. You'd think they'd need to get at least one more away goal to have a sniff int he second leg.

80 MINS: We've lost vision and sound, but will keep you updated on the scoring action. Still 4-1 to Dortmund.

75 MINS: A few technical difficulties on this side but we are sorting through them. Madrid can't get on top no matter how hard they try and things are almost getting worde for the visiting side.

70 MINS: Real Madrid just cannot get any rhythm against this German side. It's one-way traffic, just like yesterday.

70 MINS: STUNNED. That's a way to describe not only this match but yesterday's. So far it's been a German invasion.

66 MINS: PENALTY DORTMUND!Poor challenge by Alonso on Reus and the ref has no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Lewandowski with a chance to make it four... he scores! Fantastic four.

62 MINS: GREAT SAVE LOPEZ for Madrid. Dortmund's Gundogan spun, shot and it was heading in too before the touch took it over the bar. VIDEO

60 MINS: Unbelievable and Dortmund is all over Madrid right now. Ronaldo tries to get things back with some jinking of his own but there's no one attacking it in the ox.

58 MINS: Hat-trick for Lewandowski! GOAL DORTMUND. The shot came in from Gotze and fell to the striker who controlled, opened up and scored a stunning goal into the roof of the net. Pepe couldn't make the challenge. VIDEO

50 MINS: GOAL FOR DORTMUND! It's Lewandowski who tucks it away and Real Madrid are livid... they believe he was well offside but the GOAL HAS BEEN GIVEN. What a start to the second half as the ball fell invitingly for the home side's second. It's the right decision as a duffed shot from Reus came in and straight to Lewandowski and Pepe kept him onside. VIDEO

48 MINS: early corner for Dortmund and Lopez up and easy with two hands, no fuss.

46 MINS: Second spell is underway... Madrid were second best in that half but they've come away with the advantage.

HALFTIME: It's 1-all and Real now have that vital away goal. Dortmund went into it's shell after the goal and they'll want to put it behind them in the second spell.

41 MINS: Escape at one end and a GOAL FOR REAL MADRID at the other. The counter attack was on and a mistake at the back means that Ronaldo has got his 50th Champions League goal with a tap in! It was Hummels with the error at the back, failing to control and Higuan pounced, then squared it to Ronaldo. VIDEO

40 MINS: Reus gets the better of Varane and Reus moves into the penalty area... HE GOES DOWN... NOT GIVEN. VIDEO

40 MINS: This has a similar feel to yesterday's game where you feel Dortmund have all the ball that's worth anything, but statistically Real Madrid will be on top. Coentrao spins and gets jiggy with it but crosses over the bar. One minute late it's a header by Ramos, eventually falls to Alonso who smacks it straiught into legs.

38 MINS: Threatening to break through was Lebandowski and he's been the best on the park so far.

37 MINS: He's got his hat-trick! Ronaldo has now fallen over three times in five minutes. Beautifully done by the Portugal international.

36 MINS: Ramos trying to measure a cross but falls short, and Ronaldo falls over again. He needs to sort those studs out at the break. He trudges back from the offside position as another ball is played toward him but shows no interest in it.

34 MINS: Good spell this for Dortmund again. A cheer goes up as Ronaldo chests while he's backing away, and when he tries to push the 'go' button to take off but slips over and falls flat on his face.

32 MINS: There's obviously no panic from Real as yet as an away goal now changes the complexion completely. They are just pushing it about on the park trying to build into it. That's 20 passes on the trot for the Spanish giants. Then they lose it and Lewandowski does really well as he goes past Coentrao and lucky for Real that Higuain never switched off, tracked back and made the challenge so there was no shot on goal when things looked very dicey.

29 MINS: Real Madrid struggling here in the early stages as they try and find their feet and find their rhythm. Oh, if we're counting, it's Germany 5 - Spain 0 so far in these semis. Alonso swings in a wide ball and Weidenfeller comes early and comes strong to punch.

25 MINS: Ronaldo over the ball as Real Madrid wins a free kick some 35 yards out and he cracks one that's swirling, Weidenfeller with a top save that's battered away. VIDEO

20 MINS: Modric, Khedira and Ronaldo combine but the final ball into the area lacks the same finesse of the movement just seen forward. Modric then off to Ramos who drives it sharpish to Ronaldo but even he can't reach that.

18 MINS: Well that goal has been an exception to the rule... play aside from that has been sharp but nothing definitive. Dortmund continue to pump some long ball forward both right and left and wide, spreading the Madrid defence as much as they can and keeping them on their toes.

12 MINS: Ronaldo on the scene and throws the foot over the ball then looks for Modric who is arriving fast but the defence slides in to counter the attack.

9 MINS: GOAL Lewandowski and Dortmund! Great ball in by Gotze and the striker slides in to score. WOW. VIDEO

7 MINS: OHHH Reus so close for Dortmund and that signals their danger. Hi picks up the ball deep and dribbles and dribbles, shifts right a shade and shoots low and hard forcing a sharp save from Diego Lopez in the sticks. VIDEO

6 MINS: Modric off to Ozil down the right with Madrid sweeping forward, but they are undone as they try and shift it back into the middle.

5 MINS: Searching ball to the right for Dortmund looks promising... first free kick off the match with Khedira taking down Gundogan. It's played in and headed away without drama.

3 MINS: Both these clubs have had their fair share of troubles this year in getting to this stage of the Champs League competition. Things a little messy as each tries to settle. Neither with consistent use of the football and when they've had it it's hardly fair to call it clean ball.

1 MINS: Early ball with Madrid as they push it about in 'The House of Horrors' for this side (Germany).

Man how cool is Mourhino... sitting back... chilling as we kick off...

Soory about that, a few technical issues that are sorted now. We have our live pictures and teams have just shaken hands.

For Dortmund, we have Poland's international slotting Jakub Blaszczykowski into the right wing (He'll be 'Jakub from now on in this update - go on then, you spell it over and over then) and Luka Modrid gets the nod ahead of Angel Di Maria for Madrid. Benzema misses out on a starting role up front, instead Gonzalo Higuain is preferred.

Mesut Ozil could be key for Real Madrid today, he was involved in all three of his side's goals against the Germany side in the two matches they've played this season with one goal and two assists.

This is a tricky little tie for Real Madrid to say the least. They won't want to be doing 'a Barcelona' and require a second tie miracle and 1-0 will be fine for the Spanish team. Some 25 minutes now until the kick off.

Kick off is not far away so in the meantime watch highlights as Real Madrid get into some goal scoring against Galatasaray.

Pregame banter

Borussia Dortmund fans watched on as their team trained ahead of their UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg against Spanish side Real Madrid.

There was an air of disappointment among supporters with news that Mario Goetze would be leaving at the end of the season to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich for a reported fee of 37 million euro.

One fan outside Dortmund's training complex said, "I personally just think that Mario Goetze has made a fool of the people. I mean he has extended his contract and he has said that he likes it here in Dortmund and now he has secretly signed a contract".

Has this been a distraction to the players? Unlike the tax scandal that broke in Germany relating to Bayern Munich that never was going to affect players no matter how many front pages German papers give it, yes, this will.

Another supporter believed money was the motivating factor for the midfielders move: "I think that this is an absolute disgrace that he will move all of a sudden. Three months ago he said that he can't imagine playing for another Bundesliga team other than Dortmund. Money rules the world."

Dortmund have Real Madrid twice already in this season's Champions League group stage, they were 2-1 winners at the BVB Stadion in October and drew 2-2 at the Bernabeu in November.

Juergen Klopp's side advanced to the semi-finals thanks to a last gasp win over Malaga in the quarter-finals, with two goals in injury time.

They warmed up for the match with a 2-0 home success over Mainz in the Bundesliga while on the same day their opponents Real Madrid were 3-1 winners over Real Betis in La Liga.

And on the flipside, Real Madrid will be hoping they've learned their lesson from this season's at BVB Stadion.

Jose Mourinho's team will be looking to make it third time lucky this season against Dortmund when they face each other in the first leg of their semi-final today and the Portuguese boss said he expects the Germans "to play an offensive game in which Borussia will fight for every ball".

Dortmund are the only unbeaten side left in the competition and have impressive home record, having won all five of their matches so far.

Mourinho thinks it will be a close contest between the sides and says it was "difficult to predict which team is going to play the final".

It is the second time that the clubs have met at the semi-final stage of the Champions League, in 1998 Real Madrid went through to the final 2-0 on aggregate, after the first leg in Germany finished scoreless and Real Madrid won the second leg 2-0 at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are aiming to reach their 13th European Cup final and have lost at the semi-final stage three times since they won they last won the competition in 2002.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest goalscorer in the Champions League so far, with eleven goals in ten matches.
