LIVE COMMENTARY... City 2 – 0 Chelsea
FULLTIME: City win 2-0. All video up. Thanks for joining us.
89 MINS: You'd have to say that a two goal win is a fair result and reflection on this match. Four minutes of added time.
84 MINS: GOAL!!! Cracker from Carlos Tevez! He's smashed it home! VIDEO UP. He got the ball on the edge of the area and just let loose with the right boot, giving Cech no chance
82 MINS: Chelsea thin at the back as they've switched into 'Go for it' mode. Aguero finds room in behind but just as he's clear he leaves the ball behind allowing the defence to track back.
79 MINS: Mikel strong in defence and fires a 40 yard aerial ball towards Mata on the right and he shows a lovely first time touch to bring it under. Turned over though and City come away through Milner, to the byline, headed away... and Chelsea now break. Time for Torres. Mikel makes way.
76 MINS: Moses gets to the byline but his cross is swept away by Nastasic. If the result stays this way it will string out the gap between gold, silver and bronze in the EPL. United will lead by 12, and City will lead Chelsea by seven. Tottenham will have the chance to jump over Chelsea.
72 MINS: Milner and Toure nearly combining to get a crack on the Chelsea net. They'd like a second and the pressure is mounting. Chelsea pushing up is opening the counter.
67 MINS: Chelsea pressing forward, Hazard does well to dig out a cross and it's flighted far post and headed away. Double Chelsea change.... Lampard off for Moses and Hazard makes way for Oscar.
62 MINS: GOAL City! Yaya Toure! VIDEO UP. That, my friends, was one classy finish. Toure charges into the box and gets the ball to feet, touches it and picks his spot just out of the reach of Cech's left hand, in off the inside of the upright.
60 MINS: The hour mark has shot past and this match has heated up and now swinging end-to-end. City on the break and Tevez dwells on it, and gets a right serve from Silva for losing the three-on-one advantage. Other end, and it's Ramires who has City under pressure but the ball gets caught up.
56 MINS: Another chance goes begging for City. Milner to Aguero - lovely direct through ball - who chips over Cech who's sprinted from his line but the effort drifts over the bar. VIDEO UP
54 MINS: Rodwell off and Tezez makes his way on with Toure going deeper. Aguero's been put through and it's Cahill AGAIN who challenges to save the day. The game has begun in earnest - the penalty has sparked this one into life.
50 MINS: PENALTY! Chelsea gets a penalty. Hart lucky not to be sent. Ba chases a through ball and Joe Hart committed, pulling the striker down. VIDEO UP. Frank Lampard steps up. SAVED! Hart went right, low and got a huge hand on it. VIDEO UP
48 MINS: Ohhh beautifully worked to get Silva away with a little ball around the corner from Toure, crosses and it's high with Aguero stretching his left peg back for the volley wide. VIDEO UP SOON.
46 MINS: Second spell is off. Chelsea needing to improve their delivery into the box and striking on the counter is probably their best chance to snatch a goal. For City, it's about finishing.
If ever there was a game that needed a goal, this is it. Joe Hart has had two throws only in the game... no saves. Chelsea first back out onto the pitch... so if nothing else they will be able to take that out of the match so far. However, City beat them into formation.
HALFTIME City 0 - 0 Chelsea. All video up. Eight shots on target for Manchester City with none for Chelsea says it all. It's not all bad for the visiting side though as they've had one effort off target as I mentioned earlier, Lampard's foray into space (as in outer).
45 MINS: Two minutes of stoppage time. Chelsea breaks and Mata has Ba one way and Ramires the other and chooses Ramires who's touch is terrible and any chance has gone begging.
43 MINS: Rodwell hits one from distance and it's got a wobble that Cech tracks and tips over. From the corner it's Rodwell again, this time with a free header and it's straight at Cech. Should have done better with it as should Mikel have with his defending, very loose. VIDEO UP SOON
40 MINS: Ohhh best football of the game as Aguero and Milner play a one-two, Auero in the box then chipping back on the angle to Zabaleta who volleys only for Cahill's head to get in the way. VIDEO UP
36 MINS: This match - although not edge of the seat stuff - is absorbing. It's a bit of a game of chess, with City starting early by taking three pawns on the trot and then Chelsea countering by putting pressure on the King as play opens up. Great play between Hazard and Mata down the left almost takes the Queen! Give and go and dribbling at pace. Just that last pass isn't quite on the money to work a shot on target. Chelsea will be feeling better about this one as the momentum that City had early isn't there anymore.
30 MINS: Clichy slips Aguero around the back, back to Clichy and he clips one in. Just enough of a challenge from Luiz means the header can't be directed on goal.
28 MINS: Lampard has a crack from 38 yards after Chelsea win a free kick. It's still going on the rise, challenging Virgin Galactic for it's right in space. Not the right option.
25 MINS: Ivanovic thinks twice about a clout from 38 yards... Chelsea players with nose bleeds this far north of the halfway. Zabaleta with the freekick as he catches Mata.... City calm at the back and Chelsea with a lack of idea right now. It's their best little spell though and they keep the pressure on, spreading it from front to back... Ba makes a good run and is found, to the back again... Zabaleta unimpressed as things are blown up after contact with Hazard's foot. Free kick Chelsea. Mata bends it in but it doesn't get past the first sky blue jersey.
20 MINS: City all over Chelsea... the away side needs some of the ball. Cliche looking to burst around Ivanovic, holds it up and then outwits him, final ball not great... it's wave after wave.
19 MINS: Ageuro blows a great chance! One-on-one with Cech and his touch is too heavy as he tries to round him. Great keeping as Cech rushed at him to force the pressure. VIDEO UP
17 MINS: Milner frees Zabaleta down the right with a threading ball that goes right through the eye of the Chelsea defence.... not the perfect delivery in but creating some pressure. Another corner and they go short... finds Rodwell who's denied again by Cahill with some staunch defending.
14 MINS: Silva finds Aguero and City break away after mata shows some silky skills on the edge of the City box. City with some interplay at the other end now... David Luiz getting a foot in for a corner. Silva over the ball... Aguero tucking in tight to Cech... great ball and Nastasic with a downward header and off great save from Cech. VIDEO UP
11 MINS: Ba making a nuisance of himself, lays off and shoot away on a run, Lampard with the ball tries to find him with the cross after some dive and go down the right but Ba can't climb that high.
9 MINS: Zabaleta finds Milner down the right, he beats one, cuts back, pushes it down the touch and crosses only for Aguero to go down in the box under some pressure, though no danger of a penalty.
7 MINS: Aguero in a nice wee pocket, spreads it left and Silva delivers... headed away and Chelsea on the fast breaks ends with Denba Ba smashing the ball hard into City legs for Chelsea's first corner of the game, Mata's take only as far as Mikel and then breaks down.
4 MINS: City win the early territory advantage and a corner at that... which falls short and is dealt with by the Chelsea backs. Aguero starts with plenty of hustle and bustle and then gets the ball at his feet and off he sets on the dribble, Mikel tracking him, waits, waits, waits and gets in an important touch when the time is right.
1 MINS: Early touch for Toure, off to Milner and back, Toure with the first shot on goal but there's no power in it and Cech gets down and behind it. VIDEO UP
The two very expensive squads are ready to do battle... lined up and ready to hit the Etihad turf. So look at these benches... Tevez... Terry... Torres... some serious cash getting splinters.
Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kolo Toure, Nastasic, Clichy, Garcia, Milner, Rodwell, Silva, Yaya Toure, Aguero Subs: Pantilimon, Lescott, Kolarov, Nasri, Sinclair, Tevez, Dzeko
Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, D Luiz, Cole; Mikel, Lampard (c); Ramires, Mata, Hazard; Ba Subs: Turnbull, Azpilicueta, Terry, Bertrand, Oscar, Moses, Torres
Some strong English accents coming from the two managers... ahem, both playing down the league table.
Team news is that there is no Kompany and John Terry starts the match from the bench as we have our pictures from Etihad.
Kick off is not far away but in the meantime watch Manchester City players do the Harlem Shake. Video will be removed once the game starts.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini: "In this moment our only problem is that we are missing 10 to 12 goals – there are no other problems."
City’s captain Vincent Kompany remains a doubt having missed four games with a calf injury which manager Mancini has conceded has taken longer to heal than expected. Midfielder Gareth Barry, who was forced out of last week's FA Cup win over Leeds with an ankle injury, will also be assessed while right-back Micah Richards (knee) remains sidelined.
Chelsea interim manager Rafa Benitez: "We are confident that we can beat City or anyone if we do things in the right way”
For Chelsea, midfielder Frank Lampard will return to the squad after sitting out the 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Ashley Cole and Branislav Ivanovic are in a similar position whilst Demba Ba also returns after being cup-tied. Manager Rafael Benitez confirmed a couple of his players are nursing knocks but has no fresh injury concerns with only Oriol Romeu (knee) absent.
