LIVE COMMENTARY… 3 Man City Vs Spurs 2

90+3 mins: Penalty as Balotelli is brought down by King and City has the chance to win this. Balotellis slots it. It's over. City win! Video up. Harsh, Balotelli could have been sent off early in the match after a stamp on Scott Parker that the ref didn't see.

90+1 mins: How did Defoe miss that??? Bale skirts around the left side and squares it and Defoe stretches but his legs aren';t long enough. The ball squirts just wide. Video up.

90 mins: What a totally different second spell as both teams throw everything into getting a third and a winner. Suddenly though, neither teams wants to have one scored against them and loss the point and hang back.

85 mins: Players diving in all over the place, and there will be some action taken post game with some of these tackles... just dealing with a technical issue.

79 mins: Screams for a penalty as bale goes down but it's a tangle not a foul and Webb makes the correct decision by not awarding a penalty.

77 mins: Balotelli chasing a through ball but Friedel slides through to claim it.

73 mins: Bale sens in a tricky cross and Clichy is forced to head it over the bar for a corner. Bale now has the bit between his teeth.

70 mins: The game is suddenly on fire. Spurs with the momentum and Modric fires one over the top.

Well four goals in nine minutes. Goal video will be through shortly.

64 mins: Bale scores! He smashes one from just outside the box and it thundered into the back of the net. Video up.

60 mins: Spurs get one back as the game bursts into life through Defoe who rounded Hart and slotted it into an open net! Video up.

58 mins: Lescott scores a second sliding in and sliding over the line with the ball from a corner. Video up.

55 mins: from nowhere a GOAL! Nasri runs onto a through ball and slots it! Great strike. Video up.

53 mins: Great work from Spurs gives Bale half a chance and the ball comes sliding from the left with Bale totally mistiming the shot and only clipping the ball.

52 mins: Aguero totally outpaced Parker down the right and the Spurs player keeps nibbling at him and brings him down. He earns a nice little spot in Howard Webb's book.

51 mins: Great tracking from Milner who slides in to make a desperate tackle on Bale.

49 mins: Spurs attacking in ones and two and the gap behind the strikers is massive. It falls to Van der Vaart behind that vast desert of space and he shoots from a looonnngggg way out. High, wide and very unattractive.

48 mins: Kun Aguero definitely has been the best on the park and City's most dangerous but it's Silva who wriggles through and the ball falls to Dzeko who forces Friedel to save. Video up.

46 mins: No changes to either side. City have the first attacking chance, spread it left, spread it right, spread it back.... lose it.

Players making their way back onto the pitch for what we hope is a frenetic second half. City kick off...

Whistle is blown by Howard Webb and we limp to the break at 0-0.

42 mins: Dzeko's turn to blast one well over the bar. Neither side looks like scoring. NO ADDITIONAL TIME TO BE ADDED... and we all breathe a collective sigh of relief to not have to endure anymore of this 'workmanlike' first half. Hopefully the managers put a fire under some for the second spell.

40 mins: Mancini on the sideline, not even close to looking like he's waving a card - hands firmly entrenched in his sky rockets. Dzeko down the left and drives City into good position... but Aguero loses the ball and it not happy that the free kick didn't come. That's the problem there... playing for the free kick instead of playing for the football.

37 mins: The game desperately needs a goal.... City are just playing keepsies... good pressure from Spurs forces them back.

35 mins: Free kick to Spurs on the edge of the area after Bale made a good run and Lescott was forced to body check him to the pitch. Kaboul.... Kabluey, way over the top.

34 mins: Spurs' Van der Vaart with a double shot but both are blocked early by the City defence. The rain is looking like it's about to sweep in...

30 mins: Friedel makes a fine save. Richards won a strong ball and fed Aguero on the edge whose shot cannoned into Friedel's spreading legs. Best chance so far falls to City. Video up.

28 mins: Spurs have had chances down the left and the right but the delivery into the penalty area has been sub-standard.

25 mins: Aguero does some magic work after getting a head start and fed through a quick free quick.... shoulder to shoulder with Kaboul and he's turned, Aguero finding Silva who shoots just wide. Video up.

23 mins: This game is yet to set the world on fire...

20 mins: Spurs with a corner after Assou-Ekotto drills a low ball in and it's belted into the crowd. Short to Modric... off to Van der Vaart... and he wins another corner. Short again and the ball eventually falls to Scott Parker who will wish he could have that shot all over again.

18 mins: This one's evenly matched and a game of chess is being played between the two... neither keeper having to make a save as yet. Oh, Silva does well for City and gets to the byline and cuts it back but Aguero and Dzeko get in each others way. Video up.

14 mins: Ohhh Gareth Bale got away from Milner and pulled a dummy - Milner having to pay to get back into the ground - and then Bale drilled it square across the face of the goal. Video up.

12 mins: Aguero with the first shot of the game wins a corner. He jinked, dummied to strike a couple of times and the ball deflected of a Spurs back when he finally did pull the trigger. Video up .

10 mins: Clichy gets booked as he tries to stop a quick throw in.Video up.

9 mins: City starting to hold that centre third of the park well and Spurs are getting plenty behind the ball but eager to break when presented with a gnat's chance.

7 mins: Possession has been fairly well split - Bale trying to open up the left-hand side of the pitch but two City players track him and then tangle... first freekick of the match with Kaboul gassing it down the right and Clichy forced to bring him down. Kick comes to nothing.

4 mins: Barry spreads it wide for City to Silva and he tries to win a corner but referee Webb not having a bar of it and awards the goalkick. Both City and Spurs just working themselves into this one... players at a canter as a speculative through ball searches for Silva but finds the safe hands of Friedel.

1 min: Spurs in white push the ball around early and Friedel gets a touch in the sticks. Pitch looks a little slick on top after some rain this morning in Manchester and the wind is gusting.

Spurs rolls off and we are underway... highlights up when they happen.

This promises to be one of the games of the season and the players are lined up ready to come out... players taking formation...

Pregame banter

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp wants his side to take the game to English Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Redknapp's side are currently five points behind Man City but have only lost once in their last 19 matches.

(On whether defeat would signal the end of Tottenham's title chances)

"No I don't think so, it's another big game. We want to go there and play well and get a result and come away with something from the game. I've said many times six point, seven point, eight point leads can evaporate very quickly can't they? We've seen it so many times over the years so it's all to play for for everybody still. It's like everything - I keep saying, top four is where we want to be. We really want to get Champions League football. Everything above that is a bonus for us."

"Yeah, I wouldn't want to go there and sit back - I think we've got people who can hurt them. I'm looking at going and taking the game at them if we can."

(On Mancini waving imaginary cards at referees)

"We all do things that we shouldn't do at different times, make mistakes - we shout and scream, get caught up in the game. But it is not something I like to see."

Possible teams

Man City: Hart, Richards, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Barry, Milner, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Tottenham: Friedel, Walker, Dawson, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Defoe.
