LIVE COMMENTARY… FINAL SCORE
Manchester United 4 Vs MLS All Stars 0, Red Bull
Arena
It's all over - great win for United
preseason.
88 mins: Beckham has an effort from a
dead spot and hits the side netting. Oh so close, but yet so far for the Uber
star.
86 mins: Nani let's some gas loose and
shoots up the right flank, matched for speed by the tracking defender, though
to be fair Nani is dribbling. Can we have a 90th minute Beckham
special?
82 mins: can United make it five? The
match has got a touch sluggish but with a four goal spread it's to be
expected.
76 mins: Statistics talk... Manchester
United has had six shots on goal and nailed four. Go figure! What a strike
rate.
68 mins: 4-0 United! GOAL!!
Video up. Welbeck's shot gets a
deflection
64 mins: Omar Bravo pretty much misses
an open goal for the MLS All Stars. Video
up.
60 mins: Half chances at either end but
nothing worth cutting for you to put up with the video. All Stars are sure to
push to score now, which means it may be a goal-fest for United. Berbatov off,
Michael Owen on. Not a bad sub to have on the bench.
52 mins: Berbatov scores!
Video up.
50 mins: That's the first five minutes
of the second spell done with and no shots on goal so far. Manchester United
starting to show some pure class and put a cunning grip around the neck of the
All Stars play.
47 mins: Wholesale changes for both
sides as can be expected. Looking forward to seeing Berbatov some more. Man U
have a free kick 32 yards just off centre and Rooney lines it up to go short,
dummies for the variation and sends a short pass down the flank and the
cross... disappoints.
46 mins: The second spell in the
off.
Can the All Stars come back from a two goal deficit? I'm not sure as
the brain is mush... this is my fourth update of the day and in need of some
Red Bull myself.
HALFTIME Manchester United 2 Vs MLS All Stars 0 - all
video of the half is up
45 mins: United doubles the lead just
before the break as Park Ji-Sung smashes it home. Video
up.
42 mins: Manchester United has the goal
but honours in this match are fairly level. You'd give it to Man U cause Rooney
might rip into a camera again - every day we wait... wait... wait... a bit like
tick, tick, tick really!?
39 mins: Ohhh nearly a penalty and on
first glance it looked like one but the replay tells otherwise so Man U weren't
stiff. Rooney is so well behaved... around all these cameras and all...
Video up.
37 mins: Rooney lets rip from way out
and it's tipped by Sean Franklin in the sticks for the All Stars.
Video up.
35 mins: It's been enterprising,
attacking and entertaining football. A goal would be good from the Major League
Soccer All Stars just to make things spicy... or even two!
32 mins: There's a break for an injury.
This is going end to end and Sir Alex Ferguson looks very relaxed. He's looking
around and thinking this is football utopia... great football, no people
bashing each other. Though, the game isn't over yet.
28 mins: Well nearly a third the way
through this one and you'd have to give it to the All Stars. They've romped
back into the match and are unleashing devastating long range shots and it
won't be long until one find the corner of the net.
22 mins: Ohhh Beckham has a crack and a
goal is saved by the fingertips. Video
up.
20 mins: Anderson finishes for Manchester United!
Video up.
18 mins: Rooney finds himself free down
the left and centres but it's cut out by the All Stars keeper.
Video up.
17 mins: There's some good play in the
centre of the pitch, just missing the quality delivery to finish. That will come
with the class on the park. Omar Bravo mixes it up in Man U's box but can't get
any goods.
14 mins: Manchester United already know
they are in a game here. Then's plenty going on, and the space looks magnificent
with each team playing a style that will dictate a very open game.
10 mins: Angled runs into the box have
the All Stars scrambling. Ji-Sung being a handful down the right-hand
edge.
7 mins: Sharp from Rooney at one end
when a cross is delivered, but David Beckham at the other end was sharper and
snapped off a shot. It flew just wide. Video
up.
5 mins: It could very well be Old
Trafford out there the way the football fans are chanting. Stars' Omar Cummings
made a great run into the box but the angle was far to sharp to try and shoot -
he did anyway, and won a corner.
3 mins: A long through ball tries to
find Park Ji-Sung and you know him, he's still running to tray and catch that
one.
1 min: We've rolled off and already
Manchester United pushed forward and put pressure on the Stars
goal.
Her we go football fans... some great names on the
pitch. Bechkam and Rooney shaking hands prematch video
up.
Kick off is not far away and we'll get highlights up as soon as
something 'ripper' happens.
Hello and welcome to what should be an absolute thriller - Rooney
magic? Beckham bending? Need more? Then read the probable starting line ups
below.
The game will start soon and so will out coverage but in the mean time

PreGame banter
Manchester United striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez was
hospitalised overnight after suffering a mild concussion during
training.
According to a statement released by the Premier League champions, the
23-year-old Mexican star was injured during a training session for
today’s MLS All-Star game.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was to discuss the injury
after Wednesday's game. Hernandez, who was not expected to play, will not
attend the contest, the team said Wednesday.
Hernandez was the last Manchester United player to leave the pitch
Tuesday night, walking off with a big smile after he did some extra running
with a trainer.
