Erik Lamela first senior hat-trick has lifted Tottenham Hotspur to a 4-1 win over Monaco and ensured they finished top of their Europa League group.

Tottenham needed a point to qualify top of their group, and went about it on the front foot as early pressure told and Erik Lamela scored three minutes in.

The Argentine grabbed his second ten minutes later when he controlled a long ball and squeezed his shot under Monaco keeper Danijel Subasic.

Lamela rounded out the hat-trick before halftime, linking up with Son Heung-min and finishing from the edge of the box.

Stephan El Shaarawy pulled a goal back for the visitors with a fine effort that curled into the bottom corner.

Tom Carroll restored Spurs' three-goal lead after winning the ball and showing great composure to beat Subasic from a tight angle, burying his first senior goal for the club.
