Ichiro Suzuki became the first Japanese player ever to reach 3000 hits in Major League Baseball (MLB) history.
The 42-year-old is the 30th player in MLB history to reach the milestone, achieving the feat with a triple against the Colorado Rockies.
Ichiro, who currently plays for the Miami Marlins, did not make his MLB debut until the age of 27 after a promising start to his career in Japan.
After moving over to America, Ichiro racked up 2533 hits with the Seattle Mariners between 2001-12, before moving to the New York Yankees and adding another 311 from 2012-14.
Ichiro currently has 155 hits with the Marlins.
Combing his time in Japan and the MLB, Ichiro has a total of 4256 hits, the most in professional baseball history.
