As it happened : Parker vs Haumono

JOSEPH PARKER VS SOLOMON HAUMONO

Check back here in about 10 minutes for the highlights. Thanks for the company!!

Haumono's corner not happy but Solomon wasn't complaining. That is the first time the former NRL player has been stopped.

Round 4 - Haumono has a cut over his right eye. Joseph with a hard left hook. Haumono still pushing forward but not really throwing. HUGE UPPERCUT DROPS HAUMONO - Fight is over - Haumono seemed to want out when asked by the ref if he was ok. Couldn't answer the count and Joseph wins by KO.

Round 3 - Parker finding his range, his cardio could be a big factor in the fight. Haumono still pushing forward but Joseph looks settled now. Big right from Parker and a left to follow. Both guys opening up now. Huge right from Haumono to end the round but Parker landed more - 10-9 Parker.

Round 2 - Haumono pushing forward early - Parker looking to find control - has been caught a couple times in the early stages of round 2. Parker lands a couple nice hooks to the body to end the 2nd round - close again but Parker may have edged it 10-9.

Round 1 - Close round - very close. Maybe Houmono picks it up 10-9 but could go either way.  Parker out establishing the jab right off the bat. Looking to control distance. Houmono looking great with the overhand right, Parker looks a little gun shy - Left cheek of Parker looks swollen. .Parker gets cracked by a right hand but doesn't phase him. Close round - very close. Maybe Houmono picks it up 10-9 but could go either way.

10.30pm - Here we go folks - Ring introductions done - Lets Get It On!

10.29pm - Burger King for all tomorrow - 2 burgers for $5 with a Parker win. Double Cheese and Chicken. Nice one - two punch that.

10.26pm - Parker looks very confident. I guess the only issue is coming off such a tough and great fight with Carlos Takam that the Kiwi takes Haumono lightly - but the stakes are so high that you would hope that won't happen.

10.25pm - Joseph Parker coming out to a standing ovation from the Christchurch crowd. Next to Steven Adams is there a bigger star in NZ sport right now..Lydia Ko maybe?

10.23pm - Haumono coming out to Amazing Grace - Nice!

10.18pm - TAB has Parker as a huge favorite - $1.01 - which is as low as it gets - Haumono at $15 - Could be some serious cash won tonight with an upset. Pretty crazy odds in a one on one fight.

10.15pm - Parker and Haumono up next - would say 15-20 minutes away but you never know with all the razzle dazzle build-up and anthems.

10.13pm - Good news for Camp Parker, Josephs teammate Izu Ugonoh remained unbeaten tonight with a KO win.

10.06pm - A few NZ sporting celebs in attendance tonight including Steve Hansen, Joe Moody and the Mad Butcher! Also Newshub's own David Di Somma who is a legend in Christchurch...At least that's what he tells us.

9.53pm - Fight is still about 60 - 90 minutes away as two under-card fights are still to come.
