Luis Suarez bit an opponent's arm, then scored on a header in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time to give Liverpool a 2-2 tie against Chelsea in the Premier League.

In the latest chapter of Suarez's controversial career, the Uruguayan tussled with Branislav Ivanovic in Chelsea's penalty area, and the television feed showed Suarez biting the top of the defender's right arm. In 2010, Suarez was banned for seven matches for biting an opponent while playing for Ajax against PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch league.

Suarez gave away a penalty kick with a needless handball, and Eden Hazard converted to put Chelsea ahead 2-1 in the 57th minute.

Suarez leads the Premier League with 23 goals and has 30 overall this season. He was suspended for eight games last season for making racist insults to Manchester United defender Patrice Evra during a match.

The late goal denied interim Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez a winning return to the club he led to the Champions League title in 2005 and the final of Europe's top competition in `07.
