Video: Milner-Skudder wants shoulder at '150 percent'

Injured Hurricanes star Nehe Milner-Skudder wants his shoulder to be 150 percent before he laces up the boots and steps back onto the rugby field.

The All Blacks winger said his recovery from a dislocated shoulder has been coming along nicely and while his arm is still in a sling, he's happy to get back and hit the gym.

"I haven't been able to do too much with the shoulder in the sling, but I've started stuff on the bike and doing some lower body exercises. It feels good to be back in the gym and doing something," he said.

Milner-Skudder hasn't set a date for his comeback after originally being ruled out for six months when he hurt his shoulder against the Blues in early March.

Despite wanting to turn out for Manawatu in the NPC, the 25-year-old said he is continuing to play it safe with his recovery.

"I don't really want to get too far ahead of myself and look too far down the track, but I want to make sure I tick all the boxes off along the way and make sure the shoulder is 150 percent, so when I do come back, it's good to go.

"I always love getting back to Manawatu and putting on the green and white hoops again would be awesome but it feels like there is a long way until that time comes. I've just got to make sure I'm pretty sensible around my rehab and that return to play date."
