Kiwi basketball superstar Steven Adams has unintentionally become New Zealand's spokesman to the NBA.

Adams has returned home for a series of training camps with his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Nick Collison and Andre Roberson.

The towering center has already pulled out the Kiwi cuisine in the form of a hangi, just one thing Adams has done to share what New Zealand is all about.

The 23-year-old admits he doesn't go out of his way to talk up New Zealand, claiming it's just his Kiwi pride shining through.

"You should ask my teammates, all I talk about is New Zealand to them," said Adams.

"'Bro, New Zealand is way better than this place', you know they say some food is good, but I'm like 'na, na, New Zealand, bro. That's the spot'.

"I'm just excited about the country, bro. Nobody knows where it is, unfortunately."

Adams said it's been his goal to make sure everyone in his travelling entourage takes home a little piece of New Zealand.
