Warriors coach Andrew McFadden has vehemently denied any split between himself and his players but offered some choice words for centre Konrad Hurrell.

Hurrell seems to have compounded his already tenuous relationship with his coach following his punishment for late-night drinking with a tweet suggesting friction between the coach and his playing group, leading McFadden to question his dedication to the side.

"I'm the coach and he's the player and I've got to try to get the best out of Konrad," said the 38-year-old.

"We've been working very hard in the pre-season, but the instances last week just show me that maybe he doesn’t have the commitment level that's needed."

Hurrell seems to have fallen well out of favour this season, McFadden preferring the likes of Solomone Kata and new recruit Blake Ayshford in the midfield despite the 24-year-old having come into the 2016 campaign in much-improved physical condition.

"He's not a bad person, by any means. He's got some flaws in his game that's we've been working hard on. But some of the stuff off the field, I can’t control that."

"I see no reason why he doesn’t know what my expectations are."

Questioned regarding accusations that he may have lost the respect of his team, McFadden firmly rejected any rumours of player revolt.

"I speak to the senior players in the group every day and I've got their full support. There's no doubt about that."

"Our owner speaks to the players regularly. If I didn’t have the support of our senior group I wouldn’t have a job right now."

"I know there's some disgruntled players, that happens in any group."
