The Golden State Warriors have surged into the next round of the NBA playoffs, thrashing the Houston Rockets 114-81 at Oracle Arena.

Stephen Curry again sat out the match but that only seemed to fire up the Warriors who lead from start to finish.

Houston had no answer for the relentless Warriors who ran out to a 59-37 halftime lead.

Klay Thompson hit an impressive seven from 11 three-pointers as he finished with 27 points the easing the Warriors to a 33-point win

They'll meet either the Portland Trail Blazers or LA Clippers in the Western Conference semifinals.

Meanwhile out east, the Charlotte Hornets are now one win away from advancing after beating the Miami Heat 90-88.
